About Ken
Kenneth Hong was elected to represent the Tredyffrin Easttown School District's Region 2 as a school board director on November 7, 2023. He and his wife have three high schoolers who have attended Valley Forge Elementary and Middle Schools. Two currently attend Conestoga High School.
Kenneth's children have attended a wide range of schools beyond our neighborhood ones from home school and cyber school (before either were cool) to a Mandarin-immersion school, a school for gifted kids, and schools for those with learning differences. It has been a journey, and not always a smooth one.
Kenneth and his wife, Agnes, have been strong advocates for their children's individual needs. He has also been an active school volunteer, spending endless hours teaching Art in Action classes, refereeing four-square games, and organizing school auctions.
Background
Kenneth is a fourth-generation Californian and a proud product of the California public school system. He was a seven-time high school varsity letterman in water polo and swimming. He graduated from Stanford University with Bachelor and Master's Degrees, and earned an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.
He has over three decades of experience in global business and technology at Fortune 500 companies and has been an executive, advisor, and investor at multiple start-ups.
For the past two years, Kenneth has been a volunteer Co-director with Make Us Visible PA. In this role, he has worked with other parents, students, community organizations, school districts, and legislators locally and across the Commonwealth to advocate for the comprehensive and thoughtful inclusion of Asian Pacific American curriculum in PA's public K-12 schools.
Prior to joining the school board, Kenneth was a regularly attendee at T/E school board meetings, a member of The Grayson School's parents association, and an assistant scoutmaster and merit badge counselor for BSA Troop Devon 50.
Kenneth looks forward to advocating for all students and families in the T/E school district.
